The PPDS-782D-MTCP brings legacy serial equipment onto an Ethernet network. It provides seven RS-232 ports and one RS-485 port, so existing serial devices can be connected without redesigning their communication side. The VxComm driver and utility can map the built-in COM ports to standard COM ports on a Windows PC, which suits software already written for local serial ports.
The unit runs the built-in MiniOS7 and supports the Xserver programming structure, so custom Ethernet applications can be built on the device. Its Modbus TCP to RTU/ASCII gateway function allows SCADA and HMI systems that use Modbus TCP to communicate with Modbus RTU or ASCII devices on the serial side.
Power can be supplied by IEEE 802.3af Class 1 PoE over a standard Category 5 cable, or from a +12 ~ 48 VDC terminal block. The removable terminal block, DIN-rail or wall mounting and LED display support installation in industrial cabinets. The package includes the CA-0910 cable.
