PPDSM-721D-MTCP links an RS-232 device and an RS-485 device to an Ethernet network, so existing serial equipment can be integrated without replacing it. Its built-in Modbus TCP to RTU/ASCII gateway lets SCADA and HMI systems that speak Modbus TCP reach serial devices. The unit is powered either over Ethernet using IEEE 802.3af, Class 1 PoE or from a +12 ~ 48 VDC terminal block.
The unit combines 6 wet-contact digital inputs and 7 open-collector sink (NPN) digital outputs with a programmable device server. It supports latched digital input and counter functions. The VxComm utility maps the serial ports to virtual COM ports on 32/64-bit Windows 7 SP1, 10, 2012 and 2016. A built-in MiniOS7 and an Xserver programming structure support custom Ethernet applications.
The metal housing is intended for wall mounting and is rated for operation from -25 ~ +75 °C. The ordering code includes the CA-0910 cable. Check the terminal block wiring and the input and output electrical limits against your field devices before installation.
