Product information "I-7521D Addressable RS-485 to RS-232/RS-485 Converter with 2 DI/3 DO"
The I-7521D CR lets RS-232 devices sit on an RS-485 network with their own device address. The converter removes the address field from commands arriving over RS-485 and passes the remaining commands to its local RS-232 device, returning the device's responses to the host.
Unlike slave-type converters, this master-type unit is designed to operate without a host PC constantly driving it. Its onboard firmware supports dual-watchdog commands, power-up and safe values for the digital outputs, and real-time monitoring and control of the onboard I/O, so it can be adapted to local control requirements.
The unit adds two dry-contact digital inputs and three open-collector digital outputs, with a 7-segment LED indicator on the front. It has a 3000 VDC isolated RS-485 port, a 1 KB queue buffer for each RS-232 interface, and DIN-rail or wall mounting.
