The I-8094-G adds four independent motion axes to ICP DAS XP-8000 and WP-8000 programmable automation controllers. It drives stepping or pulse-type servo motors, with pulse output of up to 4 Mpps per axis, and reads a 32-bit encoder counter on each axis. It suits engineers who need general-purpose multi-axis positioning, interpolated moves and automatic homing without building the motion logic from scratch.
Most of the motion work, including interpolation, acceleration profiling and homing, runs in the module's dedicated motion ASIC, so the PAC processor carries little load. Motion status and the other I/O channels on the controller can still be monitored while the motors are running, and several motion modules can share one PAC. A set of synchronous actions allows event-triggered responses to be configured on the module.
