Product information "PISO-CAN400U-D Universal PCI CAN Card, 4-Port Isolated CAN 2.0A/2.0B"
PISO-CAN400U-D adds four independent CAN bus 2.0A/2.0B ports to a PC through a single universal PCI card. Each port uses an NXP SJA1000T controller and provides optical isolation on the bus side, which helps protect the host PC from faults and ground disturbances on the network.
The card suits engineers building CAN networks around a PC-based supervisory or data acquisition system. Its universal PCI design accepts both 5 V and 3.3 V slots, and it is plug and play on a 33 MHz, 32-bit bus. Each port has a jumper-selectable 120 Ω terminal resistor, so termination can be set port by port to match the network layout.
Drivers and SDKs are provided for Windows and Linux, with support for LabVIEW, DASYLab and InduSoft, and the SDK covers several common development environments. The vendor states that the card has been verified to drive 100 CAN nodes simultaneously.
Applications
- Logistics management systems
- Control and monitoring of industrial CAN networks linked to a PC
- Sensor and actuator networking within machine or sub-system control
