The NSM-208GP is an unmanaged eight-port Gigabit Ethernet switch that also acts as a PoE power sourcing equipment (PSE). Each RJ-45 port supplies up to 30 W to a powered device under IEEE 802.3at, so one switch can feed several remote devices without a separate injector on every port.
Power comes from a redundant dual input accepting +24 to +53 VDC, with reverse polarity protection. The PoE stage is boosted internally, so PoE applications can run from a 24 VDC supply rather than a 48 V supply.
The switch uses store and forward processing, with a 4 K MAC table, 1.5 Mbit frame buffer and jumbo frame support up to 9 K. An independent PoE status LED on each port helps engineers spot faults quickly, and a relay alarm output is provided. The metal casing mounts on DIN-rail or, optionally, on a wall, and the unit is rated for -25 °C to +75 °C.
