The DB-24PD CR adds 24 optically isolated digital input channels to OPTO-22 compatible digital input cards, including the DIO24, DIO48 and DIO144. Each channel uses a bi-directional opto-coupler with a current-sensing resistor, which shields the host computer from large common-mode voltages, ground loops and voltage spikes common in industrial plants.
The wet-contact inputs register a logic high from 2.8 V up to 24 V and a logic low at 1 V or below, so they suit TTL-level and higher DC signals. For AC signals, the board registers a constant logic high when the input frequency is 1 kHz or above and the voltage is at least 4 Vrms. The AC filter jumper must be shorted when AC inputs are used. Response is 20 µs without the filter and 2.2 ms with it.
The order includes a CA-3710 DB37 male-to-male cable (45°, 1 m) for connection to the compatible card. Typical uses include on/off control, energy management, test automation and process control.
