The LP-8121 CR is a single-slot programmable automation controller built around a 1 GHz Cortex-A8 processor running Linux kernel 3.2.14. It suits engineers who want to run their own control software in a Linux environment rather than a proprietary runtime.
The unit provides 512 MB DDR3 SDRAM, 512 MB flash and a microSD socket fitted with a 4 GB card, supporting microSDHC cards up to 32 GB. Connectivity includes two RJ-45 Ethernet ports (10/100/1000 Base-TX), an RS-232 console port, an isolated RS-485 port rated 3000 VDC, two USB 2.0 host ports and a VGA display output. The single slot accepts an I-8KW or I-87KW I/O module.
Dual watchdog timers, a 64-bit hardware serial number for software copy protection and redundant power inputs with an alarm relay support dependable operation. Embedded web, FTP, Telnet and SSH servers simplify access, and the standard LinPAC SDK supports development in GNU C on Windows and Linux.
