J1939
GW-7228-G CR bridges a J1939 network and a Modbus RTU network. On the J1939 side it transmits and receives PDU1, PDU2, broadcast and destination-specific messages, so vehicle data can be made available to Modbus RTU masters without custom firmware on either end.On the Modbus side the gateway operates as a slave and answers requests from the master, with the Modbus Network ID configurable from 1 to 250. Parameters for both the J1939 and Modbus RTU sides are set using the supplied Utility software.Engineers typically select this model for diesel power-train work, truck and bus in-vehicle networks, and truck-trailer links. The CA-0910 cable is included with the unit.ApplicationsDiesel power-train applicationsIn-vehicle networks for trucks and busesTruck-trailer connectionsFleet management systemsOn-board diagnosticsVehicle automation
The GW-7238D-G CR bridges a J1939 CAN network and Modbus TCP or Modbus RTU systems. On the J1939 side it handles PDU1, PDU2, broadcast and destination-specific messages, so engineers can expose vehicle data to Modbus-based supervisory or monitoring equipment without custom firmware. On the Modbus side the gateway acts as a Modbus TCP server or Modbus RTU slave, answering requests from a Modbus TCP client or RTU master. Its J1939 Transport Protocol support covers messages from 9 to 1785 bytes, and it supports BAM connection management. Settings are configured with the supplied utility software.Hardware features include a built-in jumper for a 120 Ω terminal resistor, an internal watchdog and an RS-485 port with self-turner. The unit is DIN-rail mounted and rated for an operating range of -25 to +75 °C. The CA-0910 cable is included with this ordering code.ApplicationsDiesel power-train applicationsIn-vehicle networks for trucks and busesTruck-trailer connectionsOn-board diagnosticsVehicle automation
