I-7522AD CR lets RS-232 devices take part in an RS-485 network. Each attached device receives its own address, so a host can reach it over a shared RS-485 bus. The unit strips the address before passing the command to the local RS-232 device and returns the response to the host.
Unlike slave-type converters, which cannot work without a host PC, this master-type unit can act on its own. It includes dual-watchdog commands, power-up and safe values for the digital outputs, and real-time monitoring and control of its onboard I/O. Each RS-232 interface has a 1 KB queue buffer.
The module provides 5 dry-contact digital inputs and 5 open-collector outputs rated for +30 VDC and 100 mA. Its ports are 1 x RS-422/RS-485, 1 x RS-485 and 1 x RS-232/RS-485, with a maximum baud rate of 115200 bps. It runs from +10 ~ 30 VDC, draws 3.0 W, and mounts on a DIN rail or wall. The blue-cover version is CE, FCC, RoHS and WEEE listed.
