GW-7228-G CR bridges a J1939 network and a Modbus RTU network. On the J1939 side it transmits and receives PDU1, PDU2, broadcast and destination-specific messages, so vehicle data can be made available to Modbus RTU masters without custom firmware on either end.
On the Modbus side the gateway operates as a slave and answers requests from the master, with the Modbus Network ID configurable from 1 to 250. Parameters for both the J1939 and Modbus RTU sides are set using the supplied Utility software.
Engineers typically select this model for diesel power-train work, truck and bus in-vehicle networks, and truck-trailer links. The CA-0910 cable is included with the unit.
