The ECAT-2511-B converts EtherCAT signals to optical signals on a single-mode fibre, reshaping the signal to compensate for distortion along the link. It suits engineers who need to extend an EtherCAT segment over fibre using only one strand, with TX at 1550 nm and RX at 1310 nm on its SC connector.
Fibre isolation keeps bus faults caused by a wire short or electrical disturbance from spreading across the link, and the optical path helps the network resist EMS and RFI noise. The converter is designed to work as a pair, so it must be purchased together with its partner, the ECAT-2511-A.
The unit has a plastic DIN-rail housing, accepts +12 VDC ~ +48 VDC with reverse polarity protection, and is rated for an operating temperature of -25 ~ +75 °C. Its 4 kV contact ESD protection on each port adds robustness during installation and maintenance.
