Product information "PPDS-762-MTCP Device Server, 5x RS-232 and 1x RS-485 to Ethernet, PoE"
The PPDS-762-MTCP bridges legacy serial equipment onto an Ethernet network. It provides five RS-232 ports and one RS-485 port, and the VxComm driver can map these ports onto standard COM ports on a Windows PC, so existing serial software can keep working over the network.
Beyond simple serial tunnelling, the unit can be programmed with the Xserver structure to build custom Ethernet applications. It also acts as a Modbus TCP to RTU/ASCII gateway, allowing SCADA and HMI systems that speak Modbus TCP to reach serial Modbus slaves. The model is powered over Ethernet to IEEE 802.3af Class 1, or from a +12 ~ 48 VDC terminal block, and includes a DI, two open-collector DOs and a removable terminal block for wiring.
The shop package includes the CA-0910 cable. The plastic housing mounts on DIN-rail or wall, and the unit is rated for operation from -25 ~ +75 °C.
