The PEX-P8POR8i is a PCI Express x1 digital I/O board that pairs eight photocoupler-isolated digital inputs with eight PhotoMOS relay outputs. Isolation between the field wiring and the host PC helps to suppress ground loops, block voltage spikes and protect the computer from damaging voltages, making the board suitable for switching and sensing tasks on noisy or mixed-voltage installations.
The digital inputs accept AC or DC signals from 5 to 24 V and offer a selectable DC signal input filter. The PhotoMOS relay outputs are rated for loads up to 300 V (AC peak or DC) and 130 mA, with a typical release time of 0.05 ms, no contact bounce and no sparking. Output status can be read back at register level. An on-board 4-bit Card ID switch lets software identify each board when two or more cards are fitted in one computer.
Driver support covers Linux, DOS and Windows, with a DLL and ActiveX control together with sample programs for a range of C, C++, Delphi, Visual Basic, C#.NET and LabVIEW environments. The ordering code includes one CA-4002 D-Sub connector.
