USB-2051-32 is a USB-attached I/O module that adds 32 digital input channels to a PC or embedded host without a separate power supply. Each channel can be wired as a dry or wet contact, and every channel can also operate as a 32-bit counter, which suits pulse counting and event monitoring tasks.
Input type and sink/source behaviour are selected through wiring. Dry contacts are rated for an effective distance of up to 500 metres, while wet inputs accept +10 VDC to +50 VDC. A hardware watchdog and a programmable software watchdog are provided, and 32 LED indicators show the state of the digital inputs.
The module is plug-and-play and needs no driver. A utility tool supports configuration and quick I/O testing, and an API library is available for VB, C++, C#.NET, VB.NET and LabVIEW. The package includes a 1.5 m USB cable (CA-USB15), with a lockable connector.
