The PPDS-734-MTCP CR links RS-232, RS-485 and RS-422/485 serial equipment to an Ethernet network. Its programmable firmware runs on the built-in MiniOS7, which boots in about one second, so engineers can build custom Ethernet applications on the device. The Modbus TCP to RTU/ASCII gateway function lets Modbus TCP SCADA and HMI systems communicate with attached serial devices.
Power can be supplied over Ethernet using IEEE 802.3af Class 1 PoE on a standard Category 5 cable, or from a +12 to 48 VDC source on the removable terminal block. The four digital inputs support latched and counter functions, and the four open-collector NPN outputs are rated at 30 VDC and 100 mA max.
A VxComm driver allows Windows 7 SP1, 10, 2012 and 2016 applications, in 32-bit or 64-bit editions, to use the device's serial ports as virtual COM ports. The plastic housing mounts on DIN-rail or wall and is rated for -25 ~ +75 °C operation. A CA-0910 cable is included with this ordering code.
