Product information "PDSM-743D Serial-to-Ethernet Device Server, 3x RS-232 + 1x RS-485, 4 DI/4 DO"
The PDSM-743D connects serial devices to an Ethernet network. Its built-in COM ports can be presented as standard COM ports on a Windows PC through the VxComm utility, so existing serial software can keep working over the network without changes to the application.
The device runs the MiniOS7 operating system and can be programmed with the Xserver structure to build custom Ethernet applications. It can also act as a Modbus TCP to RTU/ASCII gateway, which suits SCADA and HMI systems that use Modbus TCP. Digital inputs support latched and counter functions, and the RS-485 port uses a self-tuner ASIC controller.
The unit has a metal case, a watchdog timer for harsh environments, and a +/-4 kV ESD protection circuit on the serial ports. Wiring is made through a removable terminal block, and the unit is wall mounted. The package includes a CA-0910 cable.
