The I-87089W-G is a vibrating wire input module for engineers who need to read resonant-frequency sensors and pass the results to a control system over a serial link. It measures sensor wire frequencies from 450 ~ 6000 Hz and gives a temperature reading for each sensor through its temperature wires.
The module supports 8 ~ 32 vibrating wire inputs. Additional DN-1618UB units can be connected to extend a single I-87089W/S to 32 channels. Excitation uses an enhanced square wave, and the module isolates channels from each other at 1 kV and 3000 VDC inside the module.
Communication is through one RS-485 port using DCON at 1200 ~ 115200 bps, with N, 8, 1 data format. A module watchdog and a programmable communication watchdog are included. The unit is specified for an operating range of -25 ~ +75 °C.
