The F-8084 CR is a redundant Ethernet I/O module that provides eight isolated high speed up-counter and frequency channels, each with a 32-bit counter. It accepts input signals up to 500 kHz, which makes it suited to engineers who need reliable pulse counting or frequency measurement within a redundant I/O architecture.
Each channel offers a configurable low-pass digital filter from 1 to 32767 µs and can be triggered on falling, rising or both edges. Input isolation is rated at 3000 VDC from output to backplane and from output to frame ground, and the module carries RoHS, CE, UKCA, FCC and WEEE marks.
In redundant mode, the slave module takes over as soon as a failure is detected. The module also reports faults in communication, EEPROM, watchdog timer and decoder functions, which helps with remote maintenance and diagnosis. The source data states that no error counting occurs during redundant switching.
