The PISO-730U-5V is a universal PCI digital I/O card that fits both 3.3 V and 5 V PCI bus slots. It combines 32 optically isolated channels, comprising 16 digital inputs and 16 open-collector outputs (Sink, NPN), with 32 non-isolated 5 V/TTL channels, comprising 16 digital inputs and 16 outputs.
The isolated channels are rated at 3750 Vrms, which lets field signals be floated to avoid ground loops and keeps the host computer protected from high voltages. Each isolated output uses a Darlington (NPN) transistor with an integrated suppression diode for inductive loads, making the card suitable for alarm signalling, output control and driving external circuits that need a higher voltage level.
An onboard 4-bit Card ID switch lets software identify each board when two or more cards are installed in one computer. The card ships with one CA-4002 D-Sub connector.
