The VP-6231-CE7 CR is a panel-mounted controller that brings HMI, data acquisition and control into a single device. Its 15-inch TFT display with resistive touch panel provides the operator interface, while a 1 GHz Cortex-A8 processor running Windows CE 7.0 handles the application logic.
Local expansion uses three I/O slots that accept the I-8K and I-87K series modules. Connectivity includes one 10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet port, one RS-232 and one RS-485 serial port with 2500 VDC isolation, and two USB 2.0 host ports, which suits engineers who need to join a cabinet's existing network and serial devices without adding separate gateways.
This standard variant is rated for an operating range of -20 ~ +70 °C and has an IP65/NEMA 4 front panel. Non-volatile storage comprises 128 KB MRAM and 16 KB EEPROM for data retention, and a dual watchdog timer and real-time clock support unattended operation.
