The ET-2242U is an Ethernet-connected digital output module with 16 channels that can be wired as either sink-type or source-type. Each channel switches a load of up to 500 mA, which makes it suitable for driving field actuators directly from a remote I/O point on an Ethernet network.
A built-in 2-port 10/100 Base-Tx switch with LAN bypass allows modules to be daisy-chained along a single cable run, reducing switch hardware and cabling in the panel. The module also supports I/O Pair Connection, which maps remote DI data to local DO channels via Modbus TCP in Pull mode, and it can act as an MQTT publisher and subscriber or report I/O and module status over SNMP V2c.
Programmable power-on and safe output values, dual watchdog protection, and 3000 VDC I/O isolation with EFT, ESD and surge protection help the module hold a defined state and tolerate electrically noisy industrial environments. Configuration is handled through the built-in web server.
