The MN-2091U CR adds one axis of motion control to a Motionnet distributed motion network. Each module is a serial slave connected to the controller with standard Cat.5 LAN cable, and a single line can carry up to 64 single-axis modules, so axis count can grow as the machine does.
The 26-pin HD D-Sub connector links the module to servo and stepper drivers. Servo interface outputs include SVON, ERC and ALM_RST, while ALM, RDY and INP are read as inputs. Each axis also has limit, home, slow-down and emergency inputs. Motion profiles include trapezoidal and S-curve acceleration and deceleration, multi-axis linear and 2-axis circular interpolation, and on-the-fly speed and position changes.
Three-way isolation separates power, communication and I/O, which the manufacturer states improves noise immunity and protects the device. The module runs from a 24 VDC ±5% supply with a 1000 V isolated input and is rated for 0 to +60 °C operation.
