The LP-8821 CR is an 8-slot Linux-based PAC from ICP DAS, built around a 1 GHz Cortex-A8 CPU and running Linux kernel 3.2.14. It suits engineers who need a Linux controller that can host up to eight I-8KW or I-87KW I/O modules alongside Ethernet, serial and CAN connectivity in a single DIN-rail or wall-mounted unit.
Connectivity includes two RJ-45 10/100/1000 Base-TX Ethernet ports, four COM ports (RS-232, RS-485 and RS-232/485), two USB 2.0 host ports, a VGA display output and CAN. The built-in web, FTP, Telnet and SSH servers allow remote access and file handling. The 64-bit hardware serial number supports software copy protection.
The unit has redundant power inputs with a relay output for alarm signalling, dual watchdog timers and a real-time clock. It is specified for an operating range of -25 ~ +75 °C and is listed as RoHS compliant. Application development uses the standard LinPAC SDK for Windows and Linux with GNU C.
