The ECAT-M808-32AX CR is a PCI Express EtherCAT MainDevice board for engineers building multi-axis motion systems in a PC. It handles up to 32 axes of motion control with an on-board CPU, so much of the real-time work is taken off the host PC and its processor load is reduced accordingly.
The board combines motion control with local I/O: 13 digital inputs, 13 open-collector digital outputs and 2 encoder interfaces with compare trigger output. Synchronised motion (E-GEAR, E-CAM), virtual axes and multi-axis linear interpolation are available, with an EtherCAT cycle time of up to 0.5 ms and support for up to 512 slaves.
A second CPU with EtherCAT communication retention technology is designed to keep EtherCAT communication and the process recipe running even if the operating system or an application crashes. This ordering code is supplied without cable and daughter board.
