The I-9114i CR adds four isolated RS-232 serial ports to PAC and remote I/O systems, letting engineers connect serial devices such as barcode readers, serial printers, intelligent sensors and instrumentation without running a separate serial network.
Each port has an internal 128-byte hardware FIFO and supports baud rates up to 115200 bps, with full-duplex communication. Data formats cover 5 to 8 data bits, 1, 1.5 or 2 stop bits, and None, Even, Odd, Mark or Space parity. Each channel is rated at ±4 kV contact ESD (IEC 61000-4-2), and intra-module isolation is 2500 VDC.
The module is part of the I-9K/I-97K series and draws 1.75 W maximum. It measures 31 x 134 x 134 mm (W x L x H) and operates from -25 to +75 °C, with storage from -40 to +85 °C.
