The ECAT-2045 CR adds 16 isolated digital outputs to an EtherCAT network. Each output is an open collector sink (NPN) rated at 700 mA per channel with a load voltage of +3.5 VDC to +50 VDC, so it can drive a wide range of DC loads directly from the module's outputs.
Two RJ-45 ports allow the module to be daisy chained, and it can be deployed in star, line or ring topologies. Stations can be up to 100 m apart over 100BASE-TX, and the module supports distributed clocks with a 200 us cycle time. Output status is visible both in the process data and on LED indicators beside each output.
The module has been verified with the EtherCAT conformance test tool, so it can be configured by any EtherCAT Main Device or configurator. Its ESD protection of ±4 kV contact per channel and 3750 Vrms isolation suit installations with electrically noisy environments. It mounts on DIN-rail and operates from -25 ~ +75 °C.
