EC4-DA4 CR is a slim EtherCAT SubDevice that adds four isolated 12-bit analog outputs to a control network. Each channel can be set to a voltage or current range, including ±5 V, ±10 V, 0 ~ 5 V, 0 ~ 10 V, 0 ~ 10 mA and 0 ~ 20 mA, so one module can drive a wide variety of field devices.
Communication runs over EtherCAT with a 100 μs cycle time and distributed clock support. Running the analog outputs from the bus rather than from individual parallel wiring reduces the number of cables needed for a given point count, and output values can be monitored in software. The module has passed conformance testing and is intended for use with a range of standard EtherCAT MainDevices.
The housing is plastic and measures 17.5 x 108 x 73 mm (W x L x D, excluding terminals). It mounts on a DIN rail or to a wall and uses a removable terminal-block connector. The module is rated for operation from -25 to +70 °C and is supplied from +24 VDC, with 2500 VDC isolation on the outputs.
