The XP-8031-CE6 is a Windows CE 6.0 programmable automation controller built around a 1 GHz dual-core x86 processor. It suits engineers who want PC-style software development together with the deterministic behaviour expected from a PLC-class controller, and it is supported by hard real-time capability under Windows CE 6.0.
Memory and storage comprise 2 GB DDR3 and 32 GB Flash, with 16 KB EEPROM and 512 KB MRAM for data retention. Communication is provided by two 10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet ports, three RS-232 serial ports (3000 VDC isolated), four USB 2.0 host ports and a VGA port. A dual watchdog timer, a real-time clock and a 64-bit hardware serial number for software protection complete the main unit.
This variant has no I/O expansion slots, so it does not accept the I-8K or I-87K modules offered by the XP-8131-CE6, XP-8331-CE6 and XP-8731-CE6. Software support includes .NET Compact Framework 3.5, a DLL SDK for Visual Studio .NET 2005/2008, and FTP and ASP services. The unit is rated for -25 ~ +75 °C operation and accepts a +10 ~ 30 VDC input with redundant power inputs.
