The WISE-2841M-4GE is a metal-case IIoT edge controller that is configured through a web browser, so no additional software tool is needed. Control logic is built on web pages rather than written as code, and IF-THEN-ELSE rules run directly on the controller. It suits engineers who want local automation logic, I/O monitoring and data handling at the edge without custom programming.
On the connectivity side, the unit combines RS-485 and Modbus slave support with 4G wireless communication. It can read DCON, Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP slave modules, and it can send data and messages over Modbus TCP/RTU, FTP, MQTT and SNMP v2c/v3. HTTPS, SFTP and FTPS are available for encrypted access, and a VPN function allows connection to devices on a secured network.
This ordering code is the 4G variant with a frequency band for EMEA, Korea, Thailand, India and Taiwan. The 4G system supports FDD LTE bands B1/B3/B5/B7/B8/B20, and the controller also supports a range of cloud platforms, including Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and IBM Bluemix, as well as the IoTstar Cloud Management Software.
