The PPDS-752-MTCP CR bridges four RS-232 devices and one RS-485 device onto an Ethernet network. Its built-in COM ports can be presented as standard COM ports on a Windows PC through the VxComm driver, so existing serial software can keep working with networked hardware.
Beyond simple serial tunnelling, the unit is programmable and runs the built-in MiniOS7 operating system. It also acts as a Modbus TCP to RTU/ASCII gateway, letting Modbus TCP SCADA and HMI systems poll serial Modbus slaves. Power can come from a PoE switch under IEEE 802.3af Class 1 or from a +12 ~ 48 VDC terminal block, and the removable terminal block simplifies field wiring.
This ordering code ships with the CA-0910 cable. The device is suited to factory, building and home automation projects where serial equipment needs to be integrated into an Ethernet infrastructure.
