The PISO-725U is a universal PCI digital I/O board for PCs that need both switched control outputs and isolated contact sensing. It fits 3.3 V and 5 V PCI slots and combines eight electromechanical relay channels with eight optically isolated digital inputs on a single card.
The relay channels suit circuits that must be driven from a low-power control signal with full electrical separation, or where one signal has to switch several circuits. Relay status can be read back in software, and onboard LEDs show each channel's state. All relays are de-energised at power-on.
The digital inputs have 3750 Vrms photo-isolation and can be set by a hardware jumper to isolated or non-isolated operation. Every input generates an interrupt on a state change, so contact closures and openings can be detected without continuous polling. A Card ID switch lets software identify each board when two or more cards are installed in one computer. The card is supplied with one CA-4002 D-Sub connector.
