PDS-721 is a programmable device server that brings RS-232 and RS-485 serial equipment onto an Ethernet network. A virtual COM driver lets a Windows PC treat the device's serial ports as local COM ports, so existing serial software can keep working over the network.
The unit runs the built-in MiniOS7 and can be programmed for custom Ethernet applications. It also acts as a Modbus TCP to RTU/ASCII gateway, which suits SCADA and HMI systems that speak Modbus TCP but must reach serial field devices. The six digital inputs support latched input and counter functions, and the seven open-collector outputs are rated for up to 30 VDC and 100 mA.
This plastic-cased CR version is a DIN-rail or wall-mounted unit with a removable terminal block for wiring. It is supplied with the CA-0910 cable. For a metal enclosure, see the PDSM-721 listed in the same series.
