The ET-2242 CR is an Ethernet I/O module offering 16 open-collector digital outputs in sink configuration, with each channel rated for a 650 mA load. It suits engineers who need to switch a group of loads over Ethernet without a separate network device, as the built-in 2-port switch lets modules be daisy-chained along a line.
Beyond switching, the module can be configured to hold a programmable power-on value and safe value for its outputs. Its I/O pair connection function links local DO channels to DI channels on a remote module over Ethernet, with remote DI data written to local outputs in Pull mode via Modbus TCP. Dual-watchdog support, a built-in web server and password and IP filter access control add to its configuration and operational options.
For electrically demanding sites, the ET-2242 CR provides 3000 VDC I/O isolation and EMS (EFT/ESD/Surge) protection. Its MQTT publisher and subscriber capability and SNMP V2c support allow I/O status to be reported to brokers and network management software.
