I-8053W-G is a 16-channel digital input module from the I-8K/I-87K High Profile series, intended for engineers who need to read a bank of switch or sensor signals with galvanic separation. It accepts wet contact signals in the +10 ~ +30 VDC range and can also be used with dry contacts, which extends its reach to field wiring up to 500 metres in length.
Each channel is isolated from the logic side and the module offers 3750 VDC intra-module isolation, together with ±4 kV ESD protection on each terminal. A status LED is provided for power and communication, and one LED per input channel shows the state of each input, which simplifies commissioning and fault finding on the bench or in the cabinet.
