MN-3254 CR is a distributed I/O expansion module for Motionnet systems, providing 16 isolated digital input channels and 16 isolated digital output channels in a single DIN-rail housing. Each Motionnet transfer line can carry up to 64 modules, allowing the I/O count to grow to 1024 inputs and 1024 outputs on one network.
Timing is deterministic: each device has a cyclic time of 15.1 μs at 20 Mbps, and I/O status is updated automatically over the Motionnet system at a constant interval. Input points can be configured for interrupts, so the controller does not need to poll inputs that are not changing. Each input port can be set to NPN or PNP operation over 12 to 24 V, and the output flywheel diodes can be connected to different supply sources port by port.
The CR variant is the RJ-45 connector version listed in the ordering information. Isolation of 3000 Vrms on both the digital inputs and outputs, along with a 1000 V isolated 24 VDC power input, helps separate field wiring from the communication network and the logic supply.
