The I-7016PD CR converts signals from full-bridge strain gauges and load cells into readings that can be scaled directly into weight or force units. A user-defined linear mapping table turns raw measurements into engineering values, so the host system receives usable data without extra conversion logic. The 6-wire connection adds sense wires that measure the excitation voltage at the sensor, which helps the module compensate for voltage drop along long cable runs.
This blue-cover 1-channel variant includes a 5-digit 7-segment LED display for local readout, and communicates over a single RS-485 port using the DCON protocol at 1200 ~ 115200 bps. It also provides an excitation voltage output of 0 ~ +10 V, one 50 Hz event counter digital input and four open-collector digital outputs that can be set for general use or for high/low alarms. Intra-module isolation is rated at 3000 VDC.
Choose this model over the 4-wire I-7016D or I-7016 when the sensor is installed far from the module, or when the measurement accuracy depends on stable excitation at the bridge. For short runs and cost-sensitive applications, the 2-channel 4-wire models in the series may be a better fit. The module mounts on a DIN rail and is rated for operation from -25 ~ +75 °C.
