The EIP-2055 CR is a remote digital I/O module that brings 8 isolated inputs and 8 open-collector outputs onto an EtherNet/IP network. It is designed as an EtherNet/IP adapter, so it can be added to an existing Ethernet/IP control architecture with the I/O points reachable over the network.
The two 10/100 Base-TX RJ-45 ports support daisy chain connection, which reduces cabling and simplifies device placement. The module can also be deployed in star, line or ring topologies. The digital inputs support wet and dry contacts, with a counter function up to 32-bit (4294967295) counts at 3 kHz, and the outputs are rated for loads from +3.5 V to +50 V. Power-on and safe values can be set for the outputs.
LEDs show both the I/O status and the connection status, which helps with commissioning and fault finding. Firmware can be updated over Ethernet, and a software utility is provided for configuring and testing the module. Note that load current and power consumption differ between the Non-RevB and RevB hardware, so check the revision when designing for the output current budget.
