The EC2-C32 is an EtherCAT slave I/O module that adds 32 isolated digital outputs to an EtherCAT network. Each output is an open-collector sink type with an internal flywheel diode, rated at 40 VDC maximum load voltage and 3000 VDC isolation, so it suits engineers who need a dense, distributed output block on a single fieldbus node.
Two RJ-45 bus ports allow the modules to be daisy-chained, reducing the amount of cabling compared with star-wired layouts. Stations can be up to 100 m apart over 100BASE-TX, and the module supports distributed clocks with a 100 us cycle time. Output states can be seen on the LED indicators as well as in the process data.
Output behaviour is set for the application: power-on values are configurable, and outputs keep their values after a state machine change. The module is built in a metal casing rated IP40 and mounts on a DIN rail or a wall.
