PROFI-8855-G CR is a PROFIBUS DP-V0 slave that turns a rack of eight I/O slots into a remote I/O station. It accepts I-8k High Profile and I-87K High Profile modules, so one unit can cover a mix of digital, analogue and other signal types on a single PROFIBUS segment.
Engineers will value the configuration workflow. I/O modules are set up through the GSD file, so the station can be defined without a separate vendor setting tool. The transmission rate is detected automatically, and the station address is chosen with rotary switches anywhere from 0 to 126.
For installations that need electrical robustness, the unit provides 3000 VDC isolation on the PROFIBUS side and High Speed iCoupler network isolation. Hot-swap is available for I-87K High Profile modules, and each terminal has 4KV ESD protection. The unit mounts on a DIN rail or on a wall.
