The I-8831-80-G CR is an Ethernet embedded controller with eight slots for I-8K and I-87K I/O modules. It runs MiniOS7, a DOS-like embedded operating system that starts in 0.4 to 0.8 seconds and includes built-in hardware diagnostics. Modules for digital and analogue I/O, counter and frequency, and motion control are all supported.
For TCP/IP development, the controller provides the XServer library, which covers most of the Ethernet communication functions. The bundled demo programs help engineers complete the remaining application-specific code quickly. The three serial COM ports, two RS-232 and one RS-232/RS-485, support remote data acquisition and control.
Optional S-256 (256 KB) or S-512 (512 KB) battery-backed SRAM modules add data logger storage. Both are sold separately as accessories.
