The EC2-TC16 is an EtherCAT slave I/O module that brings 16 thermocouple input channels to an EtherCAT network. Each channel samples at 100 Hz and reports open wire conditions, so sensor faults can be identified at channel level.
Each channel can be configured individually and accepts a wide choice of thermocouple types, including J, K, T, E, R, S, B, N, C, L, M and LDIN43710. Automatic cold-junction compensation is applied to all channels, which removes the need for external reference handling in most temperature measurement set-ups.
Two RJ-45 EtherCAT ports allow stations to be daisy-chained, with up to 100 m between stations over 100BASE-TX. Distributed clocks and a 100 us cycle time suit synchronised control, and the metal, IP40 housing mounts on a DIN rail or on a wall.
