The LP-5231M CR is a Linux-based programmable automation controller built around a 1 GHz Cortex-A8 processor running Linux kernel 3.2.14. It suits engineers who need an embedded Linux controller with real-time capability, multiple serial interfaces and a gigabit-class Ethernet port in a single compact unit.
Connectivity centres on a 10/100/1000 Mbit/s RJ-45 Ethernet port, four serial ports (RS-232 and RS-485, one RS-485 port isolated at 2500 VDC), and a USB 2.0 host port. An XV-Board connector allows I/O expansion, and a VGA output supports displays up to 1280 x 1024. Storage comprises 512 MB flash and a microSD socket, which takes a 4 GB card as supplied and supports microSDHC cards up to 32 GB.
The controller includes 512 MB DDR3 SDRAM, 64 KB FRAM non-volatile memory, a real-time clock and a dual watchdog timer. A 64-bit hardware serial number supports software copy protection. Power is supplied at +12 VDC to +48 VDC, and the metal case is rated for operation from -25 to +75 °C. The unit mounts on DIN-rail or wall.
