The ECAT-M808-32AX/S CR is a PCI Express card that turns a PC into an EtherCAT MainDevice for up to 32 axes of motion control. Its built-in CPU handles the axis and I/O processing, which reduces the load on the host PC. The card runs EtherCAT cycles as fast as 0.5 ms and can manage up to 512 slaves on a single network.
On board, the card provides 13 digital inputs, 13 digital outputs and two encoder interfaces with compare trigger outputs. Motion features include synchronised motion using E-GEAR and E-CAM, virtual axes and multi-axis linear interpolation, so it suits coordinated machine motion as well as general I/O control.
A second CPU provides EtherCAT communication retention, which keeps EtherCAT communication and process recipes running if the operating system or a program crashes. This suits engineers building motion or data acquisition systems that need the network to stay stable. The /S variant includes a DN-26 and cables.
