The ISO-P64 CR is an ISA bus data acquisition board that brings 64 optically isolated digital inputs into a PC. The inputs are split into four isolated banks, so field signals are kept electrically separate from the host computer, which helps eliminate ground-loop problems and protects the PC from damaging voltages.
Each input uses a photocoupler and accepts either dry (volt-free) or wet contact signals. The input supply can be set by jumper to the board's internal DC/DC converter, which draws power from the PC side, or to an external supply. Inputs 0 to 15 and 32 to 47 form group A, while inputs 16 to 31 and 48 to 63 form group B. Channels 0 and 16 can be used as interrupt sources.
Field wiring is made through a female DB37 connector and a 40-pin box header, with the CA-4037W cable and two CA-4002 D-Sub connectors included in this ordering code. Each D-Sub connector carries 16 input and 16 output channels, so the board suits factory automation, product test and laboratory automation setups.
