The uPAC-5001D-FD is a programmable automation controller for engineers who need to bring serial devices onto Ethernet without a separate gateway. Its 80186-80 CPU runs the MiniOS7 framework, and the C language development toolkit with Modbus libraries lets you build the control logic and communication routines on the controller.
Serial devices on the RS-232 or RS-485 ports can be polled and presented over the 10/100 Base-TX Ethernet port, and the standard Modbus protocol provides a route to common SCADA packages. For storage, the unit combines 512 KB of Flash, 16 KB of EEPROM and 256 MB of NAND Flash, with microSD expansion up to 32 GB. A real-time clock and a watchdog timer support unattended operation.
Hardware can be extended through the XW-board I/O expansion bus, which gives access to analogue and digital I/O and serial ports on add-on boards from the uPAC-5000 range. Redundant power inputs accept +12 to 48 VDC, and the DIN-rail housing suits control cabinet installation across an operating range of -25 to +75 °C.
