The GW-7552-B connects Modbus devices to a PROFIBUS DP network. It acts as a DP-V0 slave towards the PROFIBUS master, so the master can read and write data held by Modbus devices such as PLCs, sensors and ICP DAS M-7000 series modules, without changes to the PROFIBUS network design.
The gateway can operate as a Modbus master or slave and supports both RTU and ASCII formats. Its hybrid COM 1 port is selectable between RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485, with the modes used one at a time. Serial settings cover 7 or 8 data bits, no, odd or even parity, 1 or 2 stop bits, and baud rates from 1200 to 115200. A utility is provided for configuring the GW-7552-B.
Transmission rate on the PROFIBUS side is detected automatically, and the node address is set from 0 to 126 using a DIP switch. The PROFIBUS side has 3000 VDC isolation, and the network side uses High Speed iCoupler isolation. The GW-7552-B is housed in a plastic case for DIN-rail mounting, with an operating range of -25 ~ +75 °C.
