ECAT-2045K-32 is an EtherCAT SubDevice that drives 32 isolated, sink-type (NPN) open-collector digital outputs from a single DIN-rail module. Its two RJ-45 ports allow daisy-chain wiring, so devices can be installed along a line or in star and ring topologies without a separate switch between stations.
Each output switches a load from +3.5 VDC to +50 VDC at up to 500 mA per channel, with 3750 Vrms isolation between the field side and the bus. The 'keep output values' behaviour lets the outputs hold their last state when the EtherCAT state machine changes, which suits machines where a sudden reset of actuators is undesirable.
Output status is visible from the LED indicators on the front panel and is also available through process data. The module has been verified with the EtherCAT conformance test tool, and it is rated for an operating range of -25 ~ +75 °C.
