The XW506 CR adds six serial RS-232 ports to a supported PAC through a single XW-board slot, making it a practical choice when a controller needs several point-to-point serial links. It is designed for the uPAC-5000, LP-51xx and WP-51xx series, and each PAC accepts only one XW-board.
Each port uses 3-wire RS-232 signalling without isolation and is 16C550 compatible. Baud rates run from 1,200 to 115,200 bps, and every port has its own 16-byte hardware FIFO to buffer incoming and outgoing data. Parity can be set to None, Even, Odd, Mark or Space, with 5 to 8 data bits and 1, 1.5 or 2 stop bits, so the board can be matched to most legacy and modern serial devices.
The board draws no more than 0.2 W and measures 66 x 82 x 13 mm (W x L x H). It is rated for operation from -25 to +75 °C with 10 to 95% RH non-condensing humidity, and carries CE, UKCA, FCC, RoHS and WEEE marking.
