PPDS-755D-MTCP is a programmable device server that connects RS-232 and RS-485 serial devices to an Ethernet network. Its built-in COM ports can be presented as standard virtual COM ports on a Windows PC through the VxComm utility, so existing serial software can often keep working over the network without changes to the application.
The unit combines a programmable Xserver structure with the MiniOS7 operating system, which boots in about one second. It also operates as a Modbus TCP to RTU/ASCII gateway, allowing Modbus TCP SCADA or HMI systems to communicate with Modbus RTU or ASCII slave devices on the serial side. Power can be supplied over Ethernet via IEEE 802.3af Class 1 PoE, or from a +12 ~ 48 VDC terminal block.
This variant has a plastic casing with DIN-rail or wall mounting and an operating range of -25 ~ +75 °C. The removable terminal block eases wiring in industrial installations. A CA-0910 cable is included with the order.
